I certainly do love a good cheeseburger probably thanks to my mom. She makes delicious burgers and definitely gets cravings for them that she passed on to me. I feel like making just one cheeseburger seems like a lot of work though and that it could be really wasteful. So instead I came up with these cheeseburger bowls where it’s filled with all my favorite flavors put on a bed of lettuce, which then easily can be eaten as leftovers. You can add all your favorite toppings to your burger bowl. Here I did one of my favorite combos with bacon, avocado, and special burger sauce. Your options are endless though and you can mix and match to your hearts content with all sorts of sauces and add ons.
Bacon Guacamole Cheeseburger Bowls
Cheesy ground beef, on top of a bed of lettuce, with all your favorite burger toppings
Servings 3
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 avocado
- 1 heart of romaine lettuce
- 15 pickle slices
- 12 cherry tomatoes
Special Burger Sauce
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 2 Tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place the 4 slice of cheddar cheese over the ground beef, Keep on heat until cheese in melted. Stir so that cheese is mixed in with all the meat. Remove from heat.
- Cut the lettuce into bit sized pieces and cut the tomatoes in half. Mash the avocado and mix with a little garlic salt and lime juice to make an easy guacamole.
- Make the special sauce by stirring together all the ingredients in a small bowl.
- Now the fun part…assemble your bowl. Add in as much or as little of each ingredient. The amounts I gave you make enough for 3 bowls with the ingredients evenly distributed but mix it up. If you want more pickles then go for it!
Tips:
- When eating the leftovers heat the ground beef in the microwave for about 45 seconds and allow to cool slightly before putting on top of the lettuce.
- Other sauces to consider putting on top would be my Chipotle Ranch recipe from my fried pickles or the bang bang sauce from Bang Bang Shrimp Bowls.
